Position Description

Supervise, manage and direct the School Health Services for the District to promote and improve student health and educational success by planning, implementing, coordinating and evaluating school health services that advance well-being, academic success and achievement, prevent illness and injury and facilitate the removal of health-related barriers to learning to promote an optimal level of wellness for students and, when feasible, provide care, assistance and health promotion and health service to school staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required.   
  • Preferred candidates will be a Nurse Practitioner.  
  • Master's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Successful experience in school nursing, mental health nursing, community health nursing or emergency nursing preferred.

REQUIREMENTS:  
Must hold, or be eligible for, an Idaho Pupil Personnel Services Credential endorsed for School Nurse, a current Idaho Registered Nurse License and CPR certification.  National School Nurse Certification (NCSN) is preferred.

Benefits
For full-time employees (working 20 or more hours per week) the district offers health, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits. The district pays 100% coverage for the employee and a percentage of the family premium. Our life insurance plan insures the employee for $50,000 and spouse and/or dependents for $6,000 at no cost to employee. Benefited employees receive sick and personal leave per Board Policy and/or the Master Articles of Agreement. Vacation leave is offered for twelve-month employees. Full-time employees are eligible for retirement benefits as members of the Public Employee Retirement System in the state of Idaho (PERSI). Retirement with full benefits is achieved when the combined age of the employee and years of service in Idaho equal 90.
