This spring, we have created a series of intro/refresher courses on HELP PAIN with up to 4 pain CE credits for nurses. They are one hour each and available via zoom. These courses are for 1) those who have previously completed HELP PAIN training in the past OR 2) for anyone who is interested in learning about nonpharmacological pediatric pain management strategies, even if they have not previously received previous training.
Schedule:
March 19th: 3-4pm: Screening for Impairment, Identifying and Challenging Negative Thinking, Deep Breathing, Guided Imagery, Sleep hygiene
April 18th 3-4pm: Gate Control Theory of Pain, Problem Solving, Progressive Muscle Relaxation, Mindful eating
April 25th 3-4pm: Parent Guidelines, Detective Thinking, Pleasant activities and activity pacing, Running a pain group
May 20th, 3-4pm: School accommodations, Assertiveness, and Leading a professional development day
