This spring, we have created a series of intro/refresher courses on HELP PAIN with up to 4 pain CE credits for nurses. They are one hour each and available via zoom. These courses are for 1) those who have previously completed HELP PAIN training in the past OR 2) for anyone who is interested in learning about nonpharmacological pediatric pain management strategies, even if they have not previously received previous training

Schedule: 

March 19th: 3-4pm Screening for Impairment, Identifying and Challenging Negative Thinking, Deep Breathing, Guided Imagery, Sleep hygiene

April 18th 3-4pm Gate Control Theory of Pain, Problem Solving, Progressive Muscle Relaxation, Mindful eating

April 25th 3-4pm Parent Guidelines, Detective Thinking, Pleasant activities and activity pacing, Running a pain group

May 20th, 3-4pm School accommodations, Assertiveness, and Leading a professional development day

Specializing in the areas of clinical child and pediatric psychology. Her program of research is focused on the assessment and treatment of youth with chronic pain and co-occurring anxiety. Specialties: Clinical Child Psychology and Pediatric Psychology
