The Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments, is looking for Michigan nurses who are working to support state or local level clean drinking water initiatives.
They are asking nurses to participate in one of their videos (about 30-60 seconds) to highlight nurses moving forward with local work - especially as the federal programs/fundings stall around lead. The videos can be made on your smartphone. Here are some talking points and tips for the video. See the attached document for more information.
Nurse advocacy can range from those who are involved in Filter First at their schools, those who provide comments at School Board meetings, raise issues at City Council or provide education about lead and drinking water to families.
Here is a sample video about reducing hospital waste that their nurses did last year. This would be a similar format.
Please contact Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments (ANHE) if you are a nurse who is interested in participating or share this information with other nurses who may be interested.
Here is their contact information for additional questions.
